The BSF Academy Tekanpur, the Alma –Mater of BSF leadership since its inception is an iconic institution and hallmark of excellence in the sphere of Central Armed Police Forces training. Padma Vibhushan Sh K F Rustamji, IP the founding father of BSF, always believed that to develop the force leadership on right lines, training development and related activities are of critical importance. Over the years, with a vision to be an elite training institution in the field of Border Management, Counter Insurgency Operations and Human resource development, the academy has emerged as an institution which transforms and moulds newly joined youth from society into trained and efficient leaders through its basic courses. It hones the skills of serving officers through various in service courses. The borderman’s pledge “I will not disgrace the Borderman’s arm nor abandon the comrade who stands at my sides, whether alone or with many. I will defend everything that my country holds sacred” which was hammered out by BSF Academy in the year 1969, continues to fire the imagination of its officers and serves as daily inspirational invocation all over the force.
