It is a proud privilege to assume command of STC Bangalore, one of the oldest and premier Recruit Training Centres. Located in remarkably moderate weather at Yelahanka, close to Bengaluru city, it is an ideal place for training the recruits, especially the candidates from South. Raised on 11th April 1986, the Institute has imbibed the philosophy “Training is Corner-Stone of discipline and core strength of Force’s professionalism”.
Needless to say that Constabulary forms bulk strength of the Force, hence training recruits to churn out professional and all round Bordermen assumes greater significance. Besides, recruit training, the Institute also contributes to various other training activities entrusted by Force HQ. Thus the objective of the STC is defined as imparting qualitative and professional training to both recruits and trained Bordermen. The STC conducts training for:-
- Basic Courses
- Professional Courses
- Promotional Courses
- Other allotted courses by FHQ
Considered Centre of Excellence for UID course, it is the only institute which conducts courses to improve Cuisine Skills for cooks. Even the vacancies are allotted for neighboring Border Guarding Force like BGB for training in cookery. Apart from the BSF recruits passing out from this institute, it is alma-mater for recruits from State Police organizations like Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
For courses like Regimental Musicians and Bugle Courses, the institute has made a place for itself for Quality and Quantity.
What sets this institute apart from others is associations of CIATS - Counter Insurgency & Anti-terrorism School. Established in 2018 for sole purpose of training the battalions earmarked for anti-naxal operations, the CIATS is playing a key role in Force’s efforts to combat naxalism in critical areas.
Believing that Training is a continuous process of learning, scaling up the skills and upping knowledge, the STC, Bengaluru is marching with confidence to assume critical role in training landscape of the Force.
