IG's Message

It is with immerse pride and deep humility that I undertake the mantle of operational leadership at the frontier HQ (Spl Ops) BSF Odisha as on 3rd Aug 2024. On this auspicious occasion, I extend my sincerest regards and felicitations to the Seema Praharies and their esteemed families.

Since its inception in 2009, the FTR HQ (Spl Ops) Odisha has stood as a formidable bastion against the Maoist insurgency plaguing the state, with deployments in the most inaccessible terrains of the Koraput, Malkangiri and Kandhamal districts. The indomitable courage and unwavering sacrifice of the jawans and officers of this frontier have been the linchpin in the protracted struggle against the Maoist threat. Their martyrdom serves as a perpetual beacon, galvanising us to steadfastly perusal our mission. The tireless and valiant endeavours of our border sentinels have been pivotal in reducing Maoist activities in the state to an almost negligible level a monumental achievement that stands as a testament to our resolve.

In its relatively brief existence, this frontier has distinguished itself through unparalleled professionalism, operational acumen and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of its personnel. It has carved out a distinctive identity among BSF frontiers, particularly in the realms of operational and communication network, ensuing connectivity to ever the most isolated outpost of its deployment.
