Regt No. 00101312 Ct K Sudhershan Reddy of 129 BnBSFattained martyrdom on 1 Oct 2002 in J&K while performingElection Duties. Born on 14 March 1979, Ct K Sudhershan Reddyjoined BSF on 24 July 2000.On 30 Sep 2002 troops consisting of a coy strength of 129BnBSF was on I S Duty at Chatna near Hasout.At that timemilitants attacked and fired on them.In retaliation, troops openedfire.During exchange of fire Ct K Sudershan Reddy sustainedgrievous injuries but continued to fire and inflict casualty onmilitants before succumbing to his injuries.His sacrifice has been recognised by Govt.of India by awardinghim “Shaurya Chakra”(Posthumously).His next of kin Shri Narayan Reddy, resides at VPO - Peddavaugur, Distt - Anantpur, Andhra Pradesh.
