HISTORY
Training is the foundation of BSF for meeting its organization objectives. The last five decades have witnessed sizeable increase in Force strength and so are the challenges. The concepts of border management, technology are continuously changing and evolving. The training is also keeping pace with the changing scenario. In consonance with the diversified Role and Task of BSF, ranging from peace time border management duties, IS Duty to War time tasks and taking on LWE menace, the Training doctrine has evolved to shape an individual & group to fit into a borderman’s attire and align himself with given responsibility. Training brings positive change in the individual and organization, and designed to overcome competency gaps.
Throughout the career, an individual is periodically exposed to training activities for re-skilling, up-skilling and capacity building. Starting from basic training, where a person acquires military acumen, subsequent training modules focus on specialized skills and developing leadership qualities. These in-service and specialized Courses prepare an individual to take on higher responsibility. BSF has always lived up to its motto due to professional training.
