Lieutenant Colonel NG O’Conner who was commanding a Battalion of the Border Security Force, was given the task of capturing a well-fortified enemy post during the recent operation in the Easter Sector. He planned and executed the operations with competence and was in the forefront during the attack encouraging his men to engage the enemy and capture the objective. He personally directed the artillery fire. Under his inspiring leadership, the objective was captured and the enemy was compelled to retreat leaving behind his casualties and large quantities of arms and ammunition.In this action Lieutenant Colonel NG O’Conner displayed gallantry, determination and leadership of high order.
