During the Indo Pak War in 1971 NkUmed Singh wasperforming Morcha OP duty at BOP Kamala.On 18 Dec 1971enemy Mortar shell hit the morcha in which he was on duty and exploded, causing severe fatal injury to him.NkUmed Singhsuccumbed to his injuries while he was being evacuated 148Military Hospital. His sacrifice has been recognized by Government of India byawarding him “Vir Chakra” (Posthumously). His next of kin Laxmi Devi(wife) resides at VPO - Dalawas, Bhiwani, Haryana.
