Brief of Incident

On 01 April 2019, at about 1210 hrs cease fire violation /unprovoked firing was started by counterpart by using high trajectory/medium weapons targeting own FDL 471, Peer and  Camel Back of 168 Bn BSF. Simultaneously all flanking /nearby FDL were alerted. Further as per direction and plan of Army own troops effectively retaliated the enemy fire by support weapons. Amn fired by the counterpart are as follows.  BMG – 500 Rds, UMG – 60 Rds, PICCA – 300 Rds, 82 MM MOR – 85 Bombs,  RPG – 50 Rds, 52 mm MOR – 75 Rds, in retaliate own troops fired following AMNs. MMG – 182 RDs  LMG – 168 Rds,  Insas Rifle – 114 RDs.  During cease fire violation, Offg Coy Comdr Inspr T Alex Lalminlun was coordinating fire under over all fire plan of Army.  He was in command morcha and showed daring act and directing the coy personnel to retaliate. Meanwhile a MOR shell fired by Pak Army blasted near the command morcha and Inspr t Alex lalminlum got fatal injury (Deep splinter wound below left shoulder (armpit) At about 011250 HRS. He was evacuated to command Hospital Udhampur by Hepter at 011433 Hrs . At about 011555 Hrs of command hospital Udhampur declared him brought Dead. Besides above comma following personnel of this unit also sustained injuries as mentioned against each (.) One (.)
