Brief of Incident

On 12 Oct 2021 at about 2330 hrs, a country boat carrying total 08 Jawans for 2nd shift ACP duty came out towards ACP No. 10 A. After dropping off 08 Jawan at their duty points, 03 Jawans boarded next boat towards their respective duty points. At about 2355 hrs, after removing the boat from shore, when boat driver tried to start the boat it did not start. After which boat flowed appx 150 mtrs with the current of water. Boat driver managed to start the boat with the jerk. No. 04255627 CT Shailender Dubey who was moving towards the rear side of the boat got imbalanced and fell into the river due to sudden jerk. Other jawans inside the boat saw him and shouted for help and told boat driver to jump into the river but he did not jump and tried to turn the boat towards him for help. Unfortunately he was not saved and drowned immediately into the river due to heavy weight of his shoes, weapons and another items. He was not wearing life jacket.
