Brief of Incident

Regt No. 954555728 Ct Jitendra Kumar of 131 Bn BSF attained martyrdom on 10 April 2007 BOP Bahadur and Garjanpassa Tripura (West) while performing IB duty. Born 21 Aug 2005, Ct Jitendra Kumar joined BSF on 31 Jan 1995.
On 10 April 2007, BSF party comprising 14 ORs Ex-BOP Bahadur, including Ct Jitendra Kumar left for BOP Garjanpassa for border
domination. At about 1050 hrs, above BSF party reached near BP No. 2288/M 04 Kms short of BOP Garjanpassa. There this party
was ambushed by Militants in which Ct Jitendra Kumar who was leading the patrol as scout, succumbed on the spot to the multiple
bullet injuries sustained by him. 
His next of kin-Smt Saroj Devi (wife) resides at Vill-Manoharpur, PO-Hastinapur, Distt-Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
