BSF PAID HOMAGE TO MARTYRS ON THE OCCASION OF “POLICE COMMEMORATION DAY” 2022

Guwahati: The “Police Commemoration Day’’ 2022 was attended by Shri Kamaljit Singh Banyal, IG, Guwahati Frontier alongwith all Officers, Subordinate officers and Jawans of BSF, Composite Hospital & 1st Bn NDRF Guwahati. The event is being observed every year to pay the homage to all police personnel who had sacrificed lives on the line of duties.Highlighting the role played by each BSF Martyrs, Shri Kamaljit Singh Banyal, IG stated that “No duty can be more as sacred than the duty performed for security of the Nation. While tracing the history of Police Commemoration Day, he apprised that on 21st Oct 1959, a CRPF Patrol Party was ambushed by the Chinese Army at hot Spring, Ladakh where 10 brave hearts sacrificed their lives for the Nation. Since then, this day is observed as Police Commemoration Day to pay tribute to Police martyrs.
At the end, Shri Kamaljit Singh Banyal, IG, Guwahati Frontier and all Officers, Subordinate officers and jawans of BSF, Composite Hospital & 1st NDRF Guwahati observed 02 minute silence in the memory of personal who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
