BSF APPREHENDED ONE INDIAN SMUGGLER WITH HUGE QUANTITY OF
SUGAR ON INDO-BANGLADESH INTERNATIONAL BORDER
1. In yet another success in its drive against trans-border crimes and smuggling, Border Security Force troops deployed under Guwahati Frontier foiled smuggling bid and apprehended one smuggler and seized huge quantity of contrabands meant for smuggling on Indo-Bangladesh international border.
2. Based on reliable input, vigilant troops of 49 Bn BSF launched a special operation in bordering riverine area foiled smuggling attempt and succeeded to apprehend one Indian smuggler with 5880 Kgs of sugar and 01 engine fitted boat worth Rs 3.11 Lac inside river Brahmaputra Channel in Distt- South Salamara Mankachar (Assam). The consignment was meant to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
3. In other operations, on reliable intelligence inputs, the vigilant BSF troops of 14, 90 & 138 Bn foiled attempts of smuggling on Indo-Bangladesh International border in Distt- Coochbehar (WB) and seized 26.5 kgs Ganja, 50 Bottles prohibited cough syrup and rescued 44 cattle heads from smugglers while they were attempting to smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
4. The apprehended smuggler along with seized items is being handed over to nearest Police Station for further legal action.
5. Keeping in view the vulnerability of border and heightened activities of trans-border smugglers & anti National Elements on the border, BSF troops are dominating the border effectively and preventing the commission of trans-border crimes.
