Guwahati: Republic Day is being celebrated on 26th Jan every year to mark the day when the Indian Constitution came into to force. The Day was celebrated in grandeur at the Frontier HQ BSF Patgaon, Guwahati and all Sector headquarters & Units under Command. Like every year, Inspector General of the Frontier, Sh Sanjay Singh Gehlot, unfurled the National Flag at FTR Quarter Guard, Patgaon, Guwahati.
After the Flag unfurling ceremony, the Inspector General addressed the Seema Praharis of Frontier HQ, 1st BN NDRF and CAPFs Composite Hospital. He said that the Republic Day is an occasion to remember the foresight of our leaders who created one of the strongest and inclusive Constitutions for the nation that has stood the test of time. It is a day to salute to the Republic of the nation and its democratic ideals that have stayed with us for several decades and called upon the troops to make whole hearted efforts to protect the territorial integrity.
Today is the day to reaffirm our commitment to our unity in diversity, fraternity and equality among all our citizens. He said that we should always adhere to ethos of unity in diversity and urged upon the troops to contribute to the society and work for the progress of the Nation.
After the function Inspector General visited CAPF composite Hospital Guwahati and distributed fruits and sweets to patients and wished them for their early recovery.
