
North Bengal Frontier with its HQr at Kadamtala was raised on 1st Apr’1988, covering out of erstwhile West Bengal Frontier concerned an area of responsibility of 932.39 kms along Indo - Bangladesh border including 33 Kms of Dahagram Angarpota enclave in the Northern part of West Bengal State. The borders of this Frontier are spread in the districts of Uttar Dinajpur , Darjeeling , Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar. The land custom station (LCS) Fulbari and Immigration Check Post (ICP) Changrabanda are located in this Frontier area. BSF also maintains the Teenbigha Corridor connecting the Bangladesh Enclave Dahagram and Angarpota in this Frontier. This Frontier has land and riverine borders with most of rivers originate from Himalayan ranges and flows outwards. All the Indo BD enclaves are located in this Frontier area. The border is populated and the occupation varies from agriculture, tea garden, jute cultivation and harvesting natural products.
