IG's MESSAGE
1.On having assumed the charge of Inspector General North Bengal Frontier on 30 Sept’ 2023, I convey my best wishes to all Seema Praharies of North Bengal Frontier.
2. It is a matter of great privilege and honour for me to command this important Frontier. The area is not only important from the point of view of border management but also crucial to security of nation. Management of 937 Kms of International border with Bangladesh pose several challenges, but in view of the existing confidence building measures between the two border guarding forces, the task of security of the border is being accomplished in the most professional manner. Coordinated border guarding efforts of both BSF and BGB are helping to achieve in ensuring secure and peaceful environment on border. Synergy with sister agencies is another very important facet for effective border security and management.
3. The recent initiatives taken to engage border community, an important stake holder, in border management in a purposeful manner, synergy with sister agencies in Ops activities and integration of technology in border security are hall-mark of effective border management.
4. I exhort all officers and men of this Frontier to put in their best efforts and leave no stone unturned in achieving the vision and mission of the Force.
