IG's MESSAGE
1. BSF has established itself as a professional and efficient organization discharging its duties with utmost dedication and with full awareness of its responsibilities in safeguarding human rights and law of the land. Its constant vigil on the LC in association with Indian Army, despite all the challenges has contributed significantly in maintaining the sanctity of the territorial integrity of the country and promoted sense of security among the inhabitants dwelling near the LC.
2. Kashmir Ftr, earlier known as North Western Frontier, was raised on 5th December 1965 and is as old as the Force.The role &contribution of the Frontier in maintaining the sanctity of the LC, controlling Militancy during CI Ops (1989-2006), various Law and order duties including providing security to lakhs of devotees during annual SANJY, is unpararelled and widely recognised by domain experts.Many bordermen have laid down their lives in the line of duty in over six decades of deployment of BSF in Kashmir valley. I take this opportunity to pay my highest homage to all the Martyrs. Their sacrifice has played a vital role in ushering in a climate of peace and progress in the UT of J&K especially in Kashmir valley.
