Shri Amrendra Kumar Singh, Deputy Commandant of 56 Battalion Border Security Force, was tried by General Security Force Court of BSF w.e.f 26th July to 05th Sept 2022. He was found guilty by BSF Court on all the four charges including Bigamy with an Officer of Nursing Service of Army and for violation of good order and discipline of the Force. The Court sentenced him to suffer 02 years Imprisonment in Civil Jail and Dismissal from service.

Today on 10 Sep 2022, Shri Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS, Director General, BSF along with Sh. P V Rama Sastry, IPS, ADG BSF Western Command visited Barmer border area. During this visit, the Director General took a detailed review of the security scenario of India-Pakistan International Border of Gujarat Frontier in the Barmer Sector. The Director General also took stock of the ongoing development works on the international border in the Barmer Sector and was also given an indepth briefing on the administrative, logistical and operational preparedness of Gujarat Frontier by Shri G S Malik, IPS, IG Gujarat Frontier, Sh M L Garg, DIG(G) and Sh Vineet Kumar, DIG Sector BSF Barmer. DG BSF also inaugurated residential buildings built for Jawans in BOP Barmerwala and Smt Nupur Singh, President BWWA inaugurated barracks constructed for Mahila Praharis in the presence of senior officials and troops. Director General interacted with field commanders and Bordermen of BSF Barmer, carried out plantation and complimented them for their high dedication to duty amidst varied challenges. DG BSF shared his elaborate and valuable suggestions to further beef up the security of international border of Gujarat Frontier and emphasised that secure borders are the foundation of a prosperous nation.
