MESSAGE FROM INSPECTOR GENERAL
I welcome you to the Website of Subsidiary Training Centre Tekanpur. This STC was raised on 01 March 1986 to train Recruit Constable of the Force. With the passage of time, we also started to impart training to other Central Police Force Personnel and State Police Personnel as well. The aim of STC is “to impart basic training to BSF Constable Recruits/ Constable Recruits of other State Police Forces and also run in-service Courses for Force personnel".
The role of this STC is to "transform a civilian into a battle worthy, physically tough, mentally robust and a professionally sound border man" Following tasks are entrusted to this STC:-
a) Basic training for Constable recruits, Min/steno staff & tradesmen.
b) All in-service courses for Min/steno staff of the Force.
c) In-service courses for Constables, Head Constables, Sub Inspectors and Inspectors.
d) Organizing Pre-Promotion Courses for trained BSF Personnel.
e) Training of Personnel of other State Police Organizations
Our endeavor is to improve the efficiency of recruit trainees in drill, physical fitness and firing. The trainees are also made to understand the functioning of BSF, other Central Police Organizations, Army and State Police Forces. The relevant provisions contained in Code of Criminal Procedure, Indian Penal Code, Customs Act and Passport Act are also taught in detail, so that, its implementation/execution in the border belt becomes handy and easy while discharging the duties. The trainees who have passed out from this STC have achieved remarkable standard in all these three disciplines which is reflected not only during their final test and passing out parade but also in the feedback received from the field formations.
