SH M L GARG
INSPECTOR GENERAL
STC BSF JODHPUR
I welcome you to the website of the Subsidiary Training Centre Jodhpur. This STC came into existence on April 1, 1965, with the RAC Training Centre and started functioning separately on April 1, 1966. The STC was regularized on April 11, 1986, to train Recruit Constables of the Force. Over time, we have expanded our training programs to include personnel from other Central Armed Police Forces and State Police Departments, as well as running in-service courses. The aim of the STC is to impart basic training to BSF Constable Recruits and Constable Recruits from other State Police Forces, as well as running in-service courses for Force personnel.
The role of this STC is to transform civilians into battle-worthy, physically tough, mentally robust, and professionally sound Prahari. The following tasks are entrusted to the STC:
a) Basic training for Constable Recruits and tradesmen.
b) All in-service courses for staff of the Force, such as PW and MPC-OP Course.
c) In-service courses for Constables, Head Constables, Sub Inspectors, and inspectors.
d) Organizing Pre-Promotion Courses for trained BSF Personnel.
e) Training of Personnel from other State Police Organizations.
Our endeavor is to improve the efficiency of recruit trainees in drill, physical fitness, and firing. The trainees are also provided with an understanding of the functioning of BSF, other Central Police Organizations, the Army, and State Police Forces. Detailed instruction is provided on relevant provisions contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, Indian Penal Code, Customs Act, and Passport Act, so that their implementation and execution in the border belt becomes handy and easy while discharging their duties. The trainees who have graduated from this STC have achieved remarkable standards in all these three disciplines. This is reflected not only during their final test and passing-out parade but also in the feedback received from the field formations. Thanks.
Jai Hind.
