BRIEF ABOUT STC

The Institution, before its up gradation to STC BSF was functioning as BTC BSF Hazaribag. The BTC was raised at PTC (Police Training Centre, Hazaribag) with four Coys on 18th Nov 1966, as an integral part of TC&S Hazaribag, under the leadership of Lt Col R P Macaulife. It was shifted from PTC Hazaribag to present location of Meru village, on 25th Mar 1967, which is approx. 15 Kms ahead from Hazaribag town. Later, Lt. Col M M Grewal was posted as the first Commandant of BTC, on 18 June 1967.

The STC, amidst forest covered with six lakes, different type of trees in the campus provides inherent cover. The area experiences moderate weather conditions and offers an excellent environment for imparting realistic and practical training to the recruits in their basic training.In the year 2011-12, the training load of STC was increased to train 10 Coys of recruits, due to expansion in the Force and the troops were imparted effective training.

Further, BTC BSF Hazaribag was upgraded to STC BSF Hazaribag, vide MHA Order No.2/4/Trg/Creation/2010-PF-V dated 22nd June 2011.
