The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya celebrated the BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) Day at the BSF campus in Mawpat here today.
BWWA Day is dedicated to the upliftment and welfare of families associated with BSF. It serves as an occasion for families to come together, share experiences and discuss various matters. BWWA is a registered society established in 1992 with the primary objectives of ensuring the welfare of both active and retired BSF members and their families. It extends support to widows and aids in their rehabilitation while also offering vocational training for economic empowerment.
The event featured cultural performances by children of BSF personnel and was attended by the families of local BSF battalions, Sector and Frontier headquarters of BSF Meghalaya.
During the occasion, the president of BWWA distributed essential items to the widows of BSF personnel and commended the association’s significant contribution to the betterment of BSF families. She urged the BWWA to engage in a range of activities, including vocational training, computer literacy, educational programs and health initiatives to address the needs of BSF families comprehensively.
